• What is the uSwitch app for?
The app helps you compare gas prices and electricity prices. It uses uSwitch’s own comparison tool (the same one found at www.uswitch.com) for finding the cheapest gas prices or electricity prices for your region

• Do I need a uSwitch account to use the app?
No. You can use it without creating an account

• What’s the difference between the uSwitch App and Voltz, or the Moneysupermarket Go app?
uSwitch’s app uses bill scanning technology to give instant and bespoke results. We compare the whole market and help you switch to the best energy plan for you. You can then track your switch giving you peace of mind throughout the whole process

• Which suppliers can I switch to with the uSwitch app?
You can switch to British Gas, E.ON, EDF Energy, ScottishPower, SSE and npower. You can also switch to a dozen small suppliers including award-winning energy supplier OVO Energy, and the largest independent supplier in the UK, First Utility. We can switch you to Bristol Energy, Bulb, Co-operative, Flow Energy, Good Energy, Green Star Energy, iSupply, LoC02, M&S Energy, Octopus Energy, Robin Hood Energy, Sainsbury's Energy and Spark Energy.

• Can I use the app if I don’t know anything about my energy details?
Yes. If you don’t have your gas and electricity details available, you can still run an energy comparison by answering a few questions about your energy use. It’s best to use your actual consumption though, so track down a bill if you can

• Can I compare other products uSwitch compares (i.e., broadband, car insurance, mobiles, credit cards, mortgages, home insurance, TV, loans, bank accounts)?
Not yet. For now, the uSwitch app only compares gas prices and electricity prices for domestic households with standard meters, economy 7 meters and smart meters. But we hope to roll out more comparisons soon

• Which iPhones can run the uSwitch app?
The app works on iPhone 4 and newer. However, please note the older handsets such as the iPhone 4 and 4S do not work as well. If you are having issues on these devices please send us feedback using the tool within the app

• How do I scan my bill’s QR code with this app?
If you already have an account, tap “Your energy details” to view your info and then choose “Update my details” to access the QR code reader function. If you don’t have an account, you’ll automatically be prompted to scan your bill’s code while creating your account
